Fall 2025
By Tarice Gray
In June, Dana-Farber received the key regulatory approvals needed to advance our plans to build New England’s only dedicated inpatient cancer hospital for adult patients. Owned and operated by Dana-Farber, the Future Cancer Hospital will be an independent cancer facility. A new Dana-Farber cancer hospital—combined with our transformational future clinical collaboration with Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, a Harvard affiliated academic medical center, and its physician group, Harvard Medical Faculty Physicians—will deliver fully integrated, world-class cancer care in a setting devoted exclusively to healing and hope. It is the right care model for the future of cancer care and will allow us to provide the best care for our patients for years to come. A visionary new facility that will redefine how cancer is treated, the Future Cancer Hospital will offer 450,000 square feet of dedicated patient care space, 300 private inpatient beds—including 30 licensed ICU beds and 16-bed observation suite, and specialized facilities.
Bringing this innovative care model to life depends, in part, on visionary philanthropy. The partnership of our dedicated community of benefactors will make this bold and ambitious vision for the future of cancer care a reality—creating a world where all patients receive integrated, best-in-class inpatient and outpatient care from an exceptional team of clinicians and scientists focused solely on cancer.
