Band of Parents has entered into a grant agreement to commit a total of $1,200,000 to Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in support of a clinical trial led by Robbie Majzner, MD. The trial is focused on B7-H3 CAR T-cell therapy, an innovative immunotherapy designed to target pediatric solid tumors, including neuroblastoma.

B7-H3 is a tumor-associated antigen expressed on the surface of many pediatric solid tumors but minimally present in normal tissues, making it an ideal target for CAR T-cell therapy. Majzner’s lab has developed a novel B7-H3 CAR T-cell construct designed to selectively target and eliminate cancer cells while minimizing off-tumor toxicity.

As a practicing pediatric oncologist, Majzner is dedicated to bringing forward early-phase clinical trials of immunotherapies in children. “This B7-H3 CAR T-cell therapy clinical trial represents a significant step forward in the development of targeted immunotherapies for neuroblastoma and other pediatric cancers,” said Majzner. “We are grateful to Band of Parents for their commitment to supporting research that addresses the urgent need for more safe and effective treatments for children and young adults.”

This partnership with Dr. Majzner and Dana-Farber Cancer Institute reflects our dedication to advancing science that fast tracks a cure using less toxic, targeted therapies and offers hope to families facing this most challenging diagnosis of neuroblastoma.

Band of Parents, a grassroots, nonprofit organization founded by families affected by neuroblastoma, has a long-standing mission to fund innovative research that improves outcomes for children with this type of cancer. “This partnership with Dr. Majzner and Dana-Farber Cancer Institute reflects our dedication to advancing science that fast tracks a cure using less toxic, targeted therapies and offers hope to families facing this most challenging diagnosis of neuroblastoma,” said Chad Feay, MA, CHES, Executive Director, Band of Parents.

This funding from Band of Parents will accelerate the development of B7-H3 CAR T-cell therapy, bringing the field closer to a future where precision immunotherapy can transform the treatment landscape for pediatric cancer.
