The Cancer Research Society awarded a grant of $185,000 to support the breast cancer research of Marie-Anne Goyette, PhD. Her project explores cancer cells that become more aggressive and resistant to treatments because of increased sugar layers on their surface. By studying the enzymes responsible for these abnormal sugars, Goyette seeks to develop new therapeutic strategies to improve breast cancer patient outcomes.
