The Redstone Family, through various foundations, has generously committed $500,000 to create The Redstone Fund for Thyroid Cancer Research at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. The funds will support the impactful work of Theodora Pappa, MD, PhD. Pappa’s dedicated translational research efforts are helping advance drug development and the use of precision medicine to refine clinical care protocols for thyroid cancer patients everywhere.

Working within Dana-Farber’s Head and Neck Cancer Treatment Center, Pappa plays a key role in advancing one of the most comprehensive and advanced programs of its kind. The center connects clinical investigators in medical and endocrine oncology, with surgical and radiation oncology alongside immunologists, biostatisticians, psychosocial care providers, and oral medicine experts, helping accelerate the journey from discovery to patient care.

Pappa’s research is focused primarily on charting the tumor ecosystem in thyroid malignancies and identifying biomarkers that can predict treatment response. Her team works to clinically interpret the thyroid cancer genome and build an evidence-based framework for personalized treatment plans by advancing next generation sequencing and novel computational approaches. The Redstone Family’s support helps make this focused research possible, strengthening efforts to improve outcomes for patients with thyroid cancer.
