Spring 2026

In 2012, GivingTuesday was created with one simple goal: encourage generosity and collective giving. What was once a small experiment in communal impact is now a worldwide movement comprised of donors who support causes close to their hearts.
Dana-Farber and the Jimmy Fund participated once again in 2025, with over 8,000 supporters across the country donating more than $2.6 million, surpassing the previous record of $2.4 million. This new level of generosity will fuel the next breakthrough research discoveries, lifesaving care, and victories against cancer. Longtime supporter Arbella Insurance Group helped inspire donors by tripling all gifts made, up to $50,000, through midnight on Dec. 2.
The majority of GivingTuesday gifts provide flexible, unrestricted funding that supports Dana-Farber’s investment in transformational research and the most urgent organizational needs. These contributions allow Dana-Farber to be nimble, take advantage of new opportunities, and provide even more vital support to patients and their families.
On GivingTuesday, the Dana-Farber and Jimmy Fund community heard the story of Capri, one of the many patients who have benefited from donors’ support.
Hearing Capri’s cancer diagnosis was devastating, and living through treatment was heartbreaking at times. But Dana-Farber carried us through our darkest moments. As a family, we learned how strong we really are, and we cherish every smile, laugh, and milestone with Capri even more than before.

At just seven months old, Capri was diagnosed with stage III rhabdomyosarcoma, a rare type of highly aggressive cancer that begins in soft tissue. When her family came to Dana-Farber for help, we were able to provide them with the latest treatment innovations and compassionate care. After treatment that included tumor removal, reconstructive surgery, radiation, and 30 rounds of chemotherapy, Capri is now cancer-free, and her family could not be more grateful.
“Hearing Capri’s cancer diagnosis was devastating, and living through treatment was heartbreaking at times. But Dana-Farber carried us through our darkest moments. As a family, we learned how strong we really are, and we cherish every smile, laugh, and milestone with Capri even more than before,” says Capri’s mother La’Shee. On behalf of everyone who turns to Dana-Farber for hope and healing, thank you to everyone who has made a gift on GivingTuesday or throughout the year—your ongoing generosity is saving lives.
