Spring 2026

Dear Friends,

As the year unfolds and progress accelerates, I am grateful for the passion and generosity of our donor community. Together, we have built tremendous momentum and are transforming cancer research and care. Your continued belief in Dana-Farber’s mission is laying the foundation for the future cancer hospital, a once-in-a-generation effort to expand world-class care and accelerate discovery for the patients and families who count on us.

Dana-Farber’s unique 50-50 model—equal commitment to cancer research and patient care—powers a virtuous cycle: breakthroughs in the lab rapidly inform clinical care and insights from the clinic spark new scientific questions. This integrated approach isn’t just a philosophy; it is a proven engine for progress.

Our commitment to research is unwavering—and growing. The future cancer hospital will strengthen our 50-50 model by creating more opportunities for collaboration, expanding access to clinical trials, and elevating the standard of care for every patient. Philanthropic leaders are providing targeted support for the future cancer hospital, enabling us to sustain and expand strategic research initiatives. This proactive approach deepens discovery, expands clinical care through a clear growth plan, and engages a broader community of supporters to amplify impact.

A landmark grant from the Elaine and Eduardo Saverin Foundation, featured in this issue, exemplifies continued investment in the bench-to-bedside-to-bench continuum in metastatic breast cancer. Their commitment will accelerate clinical trials, sharpen data and liquid biopsy insights, and apply AI to personalize care and anticipate resistance, so that the right therapies reach patients faster.

Because of the Elaine and Eduardo Saverin Foundation and a community of donors that span the globe, we are strengthening the ecosystem that has made and will continue to make Dana-Farber distinct—where science and care continuously inform each other, and where every gift brings us closer to a world free from the burden of cancer. Thank you for believing in this vision and for helping us build a better future for every patient.

With heartfelt appreciation,

Melany N. Duval
