On June 30th, the family of the late Heather McMahon, including her parents, nieces, and nephews, attended a ribbon-cutting ceremony outside the laboratory of Jean Zhao, PhD, which revealed a plaque honoring Heather’s memory. The plaque honors the collaboration between Zhao and Patrick Wen, MD, Heather’s doctor, on glioblastoma research. Each year, the family hosts the “Storming the Greens for Heather McMahon” golf tournament, with proceeds supporting the Heather McMahon Glioblastoma Research Fund. The family also received a research update at the event. Since their last visit, the McMahon family has grown significantly, and Heather’s nieces and nephews appreciate opportunities like this to hear stories about their aunt.
