The Charles H. Hood Foundation awarded Emily Heikamp, MD, PhD, MSc, a generous $200,000 grant to study a combination treatment for acute myeloid leukemia targeting oncogenic fusion proteins and foster her career development as an independent investigator. This funding supports high-risk, high-reward pediatric studies, enabling groundbreaking discoveries, improved care, and ideally better outcomes for young patients.
