The Yawkey Foundation’s heartfelt support

Summer 2025
By Lori Dougherty

The Yawkey Foundation is a longtime partner of Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, stemming from the historic relationship between the Jimmy Fund and the Boston Red Sox. Perpetuating the philanthropic legacy of the team’s owners, Tom and Jean Yawkey, the foundation made gifts totaling $180,000 in 2024. These funds bolstered the Adult Patient Assistance Program, to help ensure all patients have access to our high-quality cancer care regardless of their financial circumstances, and provided a welcome boost to faculty and staff at an employee appreciation event (pictured). In honor of the Yawkeys’ 80th wedding anniversary on Dec. 24, 2024, $80,000 of these funds was devoted to the Holiday Patient Assistance Program.
