In January, Dana-Farber celebrated the more than $1 million cumulatively raised by the family of the late Sharon Crowley Martin through events including Derby Day, a Kentucky Derby-themed cocktail watch party. In gratitude for the care she received at Dana-Farber, Sharon’s children Susie Mitchell, Lisa Fideli, and Chuck Martin created Derby Day, as well as a golf tournament and a casino night. Each event brings together family and friends to raise funds advancing melanoma research by Sharon’s oncologist, F. Stephen Hodi Jr., MD, director of both the Melanoma Center and the Center for Immuno-Oncology, and the Sharon Crowley Martin Chair in Melanoma at Dana-Farber.
