The American Heart Association awarded $147,000 to research fellow Jee Hyung Sohn, PhD, for her work exploring how increasing the ability of mitochondria (which generate most of a cell’s chemical energy) to burn energy in brown and beige fat cells could reduce the incidence of heart and blood vessel disease.
