The Pan-Mass Challenge (PMC) celebrated its top 2023 fundraisers at a May 10 event held at Encore Boston Harbor.

Co-presented by the Red Sox Foundation and M&T Bank, the PMC is the largest single donor to Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and the Jimmy Fund. Heavy Hitters are a special group of riders who exceed their fundraising commitment to reach the annually determined benchmark—in 2023, that level was $10,000. A record 90% of all 2023 Heavy Hitters rode the 2024 PMC.

“Heavy Hitters represent 35% of all committed riders, but you represent 65% of the annual gift. Your impact is substantial,” said PMC Founder and Executive Director and Institute Trustee Billy Starr in his opening remarks. “As I’m fond of saying, there’s a lot riding on us.”
