In 2020, Jeannie and Jonathan Lavine endowed three Dana-Farber Chairs in support of prevention and early detection research at the Institute, with a gift to The Dana-Farber Campaign. The Lavines are members of the Campaign Cabinet and Jonathan is a Dana-Farber Trustee. The three incumbents—Irene Ghobrial, MD; Rafael Irizarry, PhD; and Catherine Wu, MD—are working across disease areas to investigate precursor conditions, immunotherapies, and other potential prevention therapies; develop new methods of early detection; and enhance the ability of doctors to identify and test for early stage cancers. Celebrations for the three incumbents were held throughout 2023 and 2024.
