The Herb Chambers Companies, one of New England’s largest auto dealers, has been a powerful ally and supporter of Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and the Jimmy Fund since 2015. In 2023, the company surpassed $1 million in cumulative giving after serving as presenting sponsor for the Jimmy Fund’s keystone 75th anniversary event, CowParade New England.
Herb Chambers has sponsored numerous Jimmy Fund events and programs over the years, including Jimmy Fund Golf, Dana-Farber UnMask Cancer, Jimmy Fund Scooper Bowl,® and the WEEI/NESN Jimmy Fund Radio-Telethon, in addition to offering the official Red Sox Foundation/Jimmy Fund License Plate in their Massachusetts dealerships and hosting Boston Marathon® parties for customers, with proceeds benefitting research and care for Dana-Farber patients and families.
The company’s unrestricted gifts are especially valuable because they provide flexible funds that are deployed to support the Institute’s most promising projects and most pressing needs. “We are extremely proud to have contributed over $1 million in support of cancer care and research at Dana-Farber since 2015,” said company President Herb Chambers. “This is a cause that means so much to our employees and customers alike. We feel fortunate to be doing our part to contribute in the fight against cancer.”
