The Dana-Farber Campaign

Dana-Farber Yawkey Building

By Brittany Flaherty

The Dana-Farber Campaign is our ambitious, multibillion-dollar fundraising effort to change the future of cancer research and care—the largest in the Institute’s history and one of the largest ever in the U.S. focused solely on cancer. Our community of support is crucial to this effort.

Harnessing the Power of Data and AI
Data science and artificial intelligence (AI) are key priorities for The Dana-Farber Campaign because advances in these technologies allow us to better match patients to clinical trials, identify disparities in cancer care, and pinpoint the most promising treatment options. For example, Eli Van Allen, MD, chief of population sciences, and his colleagues developed a deep learning model that accurately predicted which prostate cancer patients would develop treatment resistance. Even more exciting, the model identified an existing drug that could help overcome this resistance, leading to the launch of a new Dana-Farber-led clinical trial.

We aim to raise $55 million through the campaign to harness the full power of data science and AI to unlock countless advancements across cancer genomics, immunotherapy, early detection, cancer care equity, and more. Together, we can develop innovative technologies that change lives around the world.
