PMC Unpaved is a gravel bike ride over the scenic backroads of the Berkshires in western Massachusetts that raises funds for Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. In September, participants rode routes of 30 or 50 miles starting and ending at Camp Mah-Kee-Nac in Lenox, Mass. This vital “spoke in the wheel” of the Pan-Mass Challenge (PMC) presented by the Red Sox Foundation and M&T Bank contributed more than $944,000 to the PMC’s record-breaking gift of $72 million in 2023 and its cumulative total of $972 million raised since 1980. The PMC is the nation’s most successful athletic fundraiser and the Institute’s largest single contributor, accounting for 62% of the Jimmy Fund’s annual revenue.
