Supporting cancer research and care at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute can take many forms that benefit both the Institute and the donor. Michael Eisenson (pictured), Institute Trustee and chair of The Dana-Farber Campaign, recently established a charitable gift annuity (CGA) with a generous gift of $250,000. This CGA will support the Mellen and Eisenson Family Fund for BRCA Research and Clinical Trial Support and help our expert faculty continue to provide exceptional research and clinical care to patients with BRCA-mutated and BRCA-related cancers, well into the future.
The concept is simple: you make a donation using cash or appreciated securities and, in turn, Dana-Farber pays you a fixed amount for life. At the end of your lifetime, the remainder of your gift becomes part of your legacy and supports our efforts to defy cancer through The Dana-Farber Campaign and beyond.
Eisenson encourages all those interested in giving to Dana-Farber, and in particular other Trustees, to establish their own CGA. “A CGA is not in place of a current gift, but rather it’s a better and simpler way for the Institute, and for us, to make a meaningful gift we would otherwise make in our wills,” said Eisenson. “CGA rates are also the highest they have been in over a decade, making this the perfect time to make such a gift.”
