The 2023 Boston Red Sox Jimmy Fund Award was presented to Chairman of the Jimmy Fund Larry Lucchino at a special Fenway Park ceremony in August. The award is the Jimmy Fund’s highest honor, presented annually by the Red Sox to those who have demonstrated exceptional, longstanding commitment to the lifesaving mission of Dana-Farber and the Jimmy Fund.

Larry Lucchino
Lucchino was appointed Chairman of the Jimmy Fund in 2016, and in this role he serves as lead ambassador and public spokesperson for the charity. But his involvement goes back much farther than that. For many years, Lucchino has been a supporter, advocate, Institute Trustee, and patient of Dana-Farber, all the while championing our mission. As Chairman/Principal Owner of the Worcester Red Sox and President/CEO Emeritus of the Boston Red Sox, Lucchino has been a passionate steward of the partnership between the Red Sox and the Jimmy Fund, which is the longest and most successful team-charity relationship in all of professional sports.
