Dear Friends,
When Dr. Sidney Farber achieved the first remissions in childhood leukemia in 1947, he changed everything. His work sparked a new era of hope and possibility in cancer science and medicine and led to the launch of the Jimmy Fund in 1948. Seventy-five years later, the Jimmy Fund continues to support our clinicians and researchers as they stand on the shoulders of Dr. Farber, and strive to fulfill his vision from all those years ago of changing the field of cancer medicine.

Our generous donor community supports that legacy. Many of you give today, through contributions large and small, to ensure we have a strong foundation in the future. Many of you have included Dana-Farber in your estate plans, providing planned gifts that will fund the next big breakthrough decades from now. Many of you raise money by riding in the Pan-Mass Challenge, which just had its most successful ride ever in August, or by participating in other Dana-Farber and Jimmy Fund events in your community. Many of you share your stories, and in that way, you inspire others.
The Dana-Farber and Jimmy Fund community remains strong because of you. This year, as we celebrate the Jimmy Fund’s 75th anniversary together, all of us at Dana-Farber are looking forward to many more achievements, powered by your support, in the years to come.
With gratitude,
Melany N. Duval
Senior Vice President and Chief Philanthropy Officer
