The B.A.A. Half Marathon® returned to Boston’s Emerald Necklace on Sunday, Nov. 13, 2022, in person for the first time since 2019. Dana-Farber’s 2022 B.A.A. Half team included 485 team members running 13.1 miles, both in-person and virtually, to support Dana-Farber’s commitment to groundbreaking research and quality patient care. Over $530,000 was raised by the team, which continues to help Dana-Farber advance toward the ultimate finish line: a world without cancer.
Many team members run to support Dana-Farber and the Jimmy Fund because they themselves or their loved ones have benefitted from the one-of-a-kind care provided at Dana-Farber. Stephanie Mazza’s goal was to fundraise to give Dana-Farber the gift of providing families with more time with their loved ones. “My dad fought pancreatic cancer for four and a half years, and my mom is a current patient whose clinical trial has given us an extra 18 months with her so far. I’m so grateful for this extra time and want to pay it forward,” Stephanie said.

Nick Corsetti, the season’s top fundraiser, is a current patient who runs to run to thank his care team for their support through his six-year battle with brain cancer, which started at age 30. “I feel deep gratitude for the comprehensive care that I have received from Dana-Farber—from my neuro-oncology team to the wonderful staff of the social work, psychotherapy, and Young Adult Program teams,” Nick said. “For better or worse, Dana-Farber is now a major part of the rest of my life. It’s an honor to represent them and be able to fundraise to give other patients the same level of support that I have received.”
